Flame seedless grapes (Vitis vinifera) grow 20 to 25 feet each year. The deciduous, fast-growing plant needs full sun and well-drained soil. It is ideal for cottage, Mediterranean or rustic garden styles in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 7 to 9.

Spur pruning is the most effective method of pruning flame seedless grapes. Prune heavily when the vines have been bare for at least one month, from mid-December to March, and perform maintenance pruning throughout the spring and summer.
